Our Terms and Conditions

Booking Terms and Conditions

Upon receiving your payment we will reserve a place for you and email confirmation in the form of an event ticket.

A non-refundable deposit of £50 is required to confirm booking on any multi-day hill-walking trips costing over £100, with the balance paid at least 28 days prior of the start of the trip. If you do not pay the balance within this time, you may lose your place and deposit.

If you need to cancel your trip, payments, other than deposits, will be returned if you cancel more than 28 days before the trip. Thereafter these will be returned only if we manage to fill your space.

Please note that we consider it essential that you are covered by a suitable insurance policy. The policy should cover cancellation, personal accident or similar. It may also be worthwhile to ensure the policy covers other eventualities such as vehicle breakdown, cancellation of public transport, roads made impassable by snow en-route to the trip, course or event as refunds cannot be made for non-arrivals.

We reserve the right to modify or remove at any time the arrangements advertised where necessary for safety and enjoyment. Should we cancel your trip, then you will be refunded in full.

Where nature is involved please understand that there is no guarantee of seeing any of the species on any given day. Similarly, we cannot be held responsible for the weather conditions, they are completely outwith our control.

The information you provide is required for insurance purposes. We will not disclose your information to any other party or use the information for any other purpose.

You will need your general hill-walking gear appropriate to the time of year and conditions. Should you turn up without the appropriate gear, your guide may refuse to take you onto the hills. Please use the necessary kit lists found here. If you need a loan of some equipment, please contact us in advance.

A level of fitness and experience appropriate for the activity you are taking part in will be required. These vary depending on event and a general guide to the level required will be listed on the relevant trips page. Please contact us in advance if you are unsure.

Please note that although you will be guided by a mountain leader or mountain guide with appropriate qualifications, hill-walking can involve a risk of injury. You need to accept an element of risk exists and you are advised to take out suitable insurance. Your leader will assess the group and weather conditions and may make appropriate changes on the day if required. This may involve a change of route or reducing a trip in poor weather, or extending your day if conditions and group fitness allow.

All bookings must be made through PayPal or Stripe. Once you click the 'Submit' button on the form, we will reserve a place on the trip(s) you are booking on and send a booking confirmation to the email address you provide. Clicking the 'Submit' button means you have read and agreed to the above terms and conditions.

The contract, of which this forms part, shall be governed by the law of Scotland.

Participation Statement

It is a condition of Waymark Adventures' insurance that all participants read and agree to the following declaration prior to taking part in any activities. Any child under the age of 16 must also have a signed
declaration from, and be accompanied by, a parent or guardian.

“I understand the activities being undertaken may be of a strenuous nature; I also realise that the activities offered have some risk involved which may be of a type not encountered during normal life and that this risk whilst small cannot be eliminated without making the activity pointless; Waymark Adventures have done their utmost to minimise these risks. Participants should not do anything that may jeopardise their own or others safety and must comply with all the instructions given by Waymark Adventures. Instructors reserve the right to remove participants from activities where their behaviour is unacceptable.”

Agreeing to this statement does not affect your legal rights or Waymark Adventures' obligations towards you
